Church of St. Daniel with the Pope’s Cross

Church of St. Daniel in Zalog near Postojna is one of the Late Gothic churches, which consists of an equally high three-sided presbytery and a nave with a rectangular floor plan with a belfry and a larger shed facing west. The roof is covered with a type of roofing called “bobrovec” and the presbytery is arched in a ribbed manner.

There is a cross near the church that was made during the first visit of Pope John Paul II. in Slovenia in 1996.
