Križna Cave is one of the most beautiful water tourist caves in Slovenia. 22 emerald lakes are connected by a crystal clear underground stream, ancient bones of cave bears lie in side tunnels, and in terms of the number of species of real cave animals, Križna Cave is one of the richest caves in the world!
Križna Cave is the seventh longest cave system in Slovenia. Man has been visiting it since the Neolithic, and even earlier it was ruled by the now unfortunately extinct cave bear. You will never forget walking along the paths used by cave bears for thousands of years and paddling through the lakes in the karst underground!
The magical attraction of Križna Cave is its lakes with emerald green water. Up to seven meters deep underground lakes formed behind barriers, made of chemical deposit that separates from a supersaturated aqueous solution and is mostly calcite in composition.
