Tito Square is Postojna’s main square and represents the centre of life in the town. It serves as the venue for most public events, concerts, performances and other public occasions.
It is surrounded by numerous important buildings, including those of state and economic institutions, and also by providers of tourism and hospitality services.
The Karst Research Institute – part of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the principal institution for the study and research of karst and karst phenomena – stands on the square.
Tito Square is also home to a sculpture of an olm (or “human fish”), on which are listed important milestones in the history and development of Postojna
