Erazem’s cycling route, which starts in Razdrto and continues on the asphalt road to Veliko and Malo Ubeljsko, leads through Strane, the village with the highest altitude in the Municipality of Postojna. The thickest and, according to popular tradition, the oldest Slovenian yew tree grows here, and Saints Cyril and Methodius are said to have preached in front of it.
From Strane, the cycling trail takes you on a macadam road through the forests at the foot of Nanos to Bukovje and to the famous Predjama, the hometown of the medieval robber knight Erazem. There you can stop at the Predjamka restaurant, where you can have refreshments and gather new strength for the rest of the journey while looking at Erazem’s beautiful home, Predjama Castle.
In Landol, you can then see the most important toll booth and weighbridge, and the route then continues towards Šmihel pod Nanosom, where you will encounter the sculpture of the shepherd boy Jakob and the Church of St. George. The cycling continues along the macadam path between meadows and pastures to Brezje pod Nanosom, and through Malo and Veliko Ubeljsko, the route concludes again in Razdrto.
