Postojna will attract connoisseurs of war because of its strategic location. Postojna Gate is a tactical concept taught at military academies. Postojna played an important role during the First World War, as the old Austria built battles on the Soča River from here. Postojna remained on the military map of Italy even between the two wars – as a strategic border town in which the Italian authorities settled civilian, official and military population.
