Postojna is a city today, but it hasn’t always been that way. It received city rights only in 1909, during the time of Austro-Hungarian Empire. During this time, Postojna put itself on the world map with the cave, and with new infrastructure and the first magnificent buildings, it began to take on its present appearance.
The most urban side of the city experiences its highs and lows under the Italian rule!
