The Sovič recreational trail is located on the eponymous hill in Postojna. It is a circular recreational trail that can be cycled or walked along.
The Sovič recreational trail takes you from in front of the Galerija Tourist Information Centre via Čukovica over the rugged Poljana to Veliki Otok. In the first part, the path follows a paved macadam path and winds through trees and thick bushes. After two kilometers you will reach the viewpoint above the village of Veliki Otok, right above the Church of St. Catherine, from where you have a view of the vast Pivka basin, surrounded by karst plateaus.
Then you turn down the slope to Veliki Otok and follow the main road towards Postojna Cave. You cross the bridge over the river Pivka and continue your journey past the avenue of linden trees along the regional road that takes you to the starting point (TIC Galerija). At the foot of the Sovič hill, there is also the Postojna Pumptrack, where you can test your skills in dynamic driving over humps.
