The Notranjska Museum Postojna boasts a permanent exhibition Karst Museum, which is the most comprehensive exhibition on karst in Europe. If you had the chance to really look at the dripstones in Postojna Cave, here, you have a chance to touch them. A real medieval treasure from Predjama Castle is also on display in the Notranjska Museum.
In addition to the treasure, visitors can also see the skeletons of Ice Age animals – cave bear, steppe bison, and the remains of a cave lion, hyena, rhinoceros, and even a hippopotamus, as well as see cave animals under microscopes.
The exhibition expertly and vividly takes you from the creation of the karst landscape to modern karst life, at the same time it is a place where you can touch dripstones, see cave animals under microscopes and experience an analog and interactive display of 11,693 caves in Slovenia.
It is suitable for both younger and older visitors, for groups and individual guests, and access and viewing are also adapted for people with impaired mobility.
