Anyone who likes to attend traditional events is highly recommended to visit this one as well. The Cartman’s festival takes place every year in the Postojna Cave Park, on the first weekend in July.
It is a day-long ethnological event that attracts both the old and the young again and again, and its program not only entertains them, but also offers cultural education. The event attracts many visitors from Slovenia and abroad every year.
The main purpose of the event is to bring people closer to the history of carting (transportation) and related crafts. In addition to the varied program, many homemade delicacies are also available for visitors to taste.
The event showcases the rich heritage of trucking and transport operations. At the event, craftsmen present over 40 crafts related to the cartage business. As part of the festival, there
is also a diatonic accordion competition, a playful show of dog-training skills, an exhibition of old cars, board games with entertainment and awarding of rich prizes. A rich additional and
dance entertainment program is also provided.
