In the village of Grobišče, 4km from Postojna, there is a Smrekar homestead, which after more than a century of existence continues its mission – the mission of connecting people.
In the restored barn you can enjoy a good home-cooked lunch or a birthday party, but it is also intended for business meetings and promotional events. Their cultural events are free and open to the general public. At Smrekar homestead, in cooperation with local growers, they offer home-style cuisine. In addition to excellent food and the possibility of organizing events, they also offer accommodation facilities.
Because they are committed to tradition and the name, most of the furniture in the rooms, which are named after former members of the homestead, is made of spruce wood. One of the rooms on the ground floor is also adapted to mobility impaired guests. In addition to the rooms, they also offer their guests an apartment for 6 people.
Years ago, the homestead switched to organic farming, where cereals, crops and various fruits are grown on 22 hectares of arable land. You can find Istrian donkeys, Krškopolje pigs, and Cika cattle in their stables and on their pastures. Everything they grow and breed is part of the Smrekar homestead culinary offer.
